Who is Goodsted?

Goodsted's vision is to empower collaboration for social and environmental progress. We are a platform that connects individuals who want to share/volunteer their skills & expertise with non-profits and impact organisations. Through our digital platform, projects and organisations can post skilled based volunteer needs and find the right person to support their project. It is an open community platform with the aim to nurture collaboration to progress causes we all care about. With this post, we're looking to reach out to individuals interested in volunteering and grow our volunteer community.

Which organisation will you be supporting?

Thriftivity helps women who want to prove to themselves they are good at DYI and want to find a community they can belong to by engaging them in furniture upcycling workshops. Thriftivity aims to change cultural attitudes towards waste and empowers women to feel proud of themselves as they create a unique item with their own hand, while prevent a furniture item from going to waste.

What do they want to achieve?

  • branding support
  • Insight into how to develop a marketing strategy
  • Ideas for how to better communicate our offering
  • Ideas on content creation

What do they need help with?

They need help with sharing feedback on messaging to their target audience to ensure the business is offering something that is tailored to their needs, and that people will sign up to and pay for. The main area of focus is on messaging and communications, especially with buy-ins from paying customers and for potential partnerships. The business focus is on communicating the benefits of the offering to its end users.

Potential workshop attendees have understood what it is they are doing, and how it can benefit them. But the social enterprise model hasn't been tested yet, where the items revamped in the workshops can then be sold on to the person who's revamped it (if they choose to do so), or kept by Thriftify as a social enterprise, and resold to conscious consumers/ responsible retailers etc.

So, you will be helping in strategising on getting all these various stakeholders (workshop attendees - target audience, paying customers (secondary audience), and partners/collaborators) involved, get their input, and communicate their offering in an effective way?
