We are seeking a Community & Marketing Intern to work closely with our Co-Founder & Chief Product Officer, and Growth Marketing Manager to help ensure member success.  

 

About the role 

 

As the Community & Marketing Intern, your goal is to make sure that a growing number of Goodsted members have the best possible experience! This role is broken down into two main areas:

 

Community Support - You will help ensure a great experience for our members and partners. You will assist in managing and responding to member inquiries, checking the platform newsfeed and general usability, and supporting non-profits and impact startups in finding volunteer support through promoting their opportunities on various channels.
 

Community Engagement - You will help raise awareness of our work and of our community by creating engaging social media content and our monthly newsletter. This will include coming up with creative content ideas, community content partnerships, briefing the graphic designer on relevant visual materials, and supporting in drafting content for posting across various platforms and mediums.
 

A successful candidate should possess strong written skills - with a creative and innovative flair. They should be highly organised, pay attention to detail, be independent, supportive, and proactive.
 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Sense check and verify new organisations and opportunities that register on the platform, by using our admin dashboard.
     
  • Check Intercom and our general contact email for member queries and reach out to support them with general and technical enquiries.
     
  • Promote open opportunities across our social media accounts and on GoHire, to find volunteer support promptly.
     
  • Ensure the opportunities that match with supporters are progressing smoothly. The platform has automatic notifications to nudge for members to progress with their engagement, however, from time to time, some members do not take necessary actions and need to be nudged manually.  
     
  • Engage with our wider community using our social media accounts, by liking, sharing and commenting on community and partner posts.
     
  • Manage our content calendar and create interesting short content pieces on relevant company/community news, our product tips, and world day / event-related.
     
  • Help create our Monthly Roundup email newsletters! A wrap up of the month that includes the latest news, opportunities, insightful articles, product updates and more.
     
  • All hands on deck - support various other parts of Goodsted that interest you! We encourage our team to take the initiative to create programmes and partnerships that help meet our goals.

About you 
 

Required:

  • a proactive, and enthusiastic approach to work, with a willingness to collaborate and manage lots of different stakeholders
  • attention to detail, organised and ability to take on multiple tasks on-the-go effectively 
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills, both internally and externally
  • excellent creative writing skills (highly proficient with G Suite tools)
  • some experience with community, design and/or content marketing stack tools (e.g, Figma, Intercom, Mailchimp, Buffer etc) 

Bonuses:

  • existing experience with (or knowledge of) third sector industry: charities, social enterprises, CIC’s etc.
  • experience launching community initiatives (e.g. launching an ambassador program, creating an event series, writing an email newsletter)
  • experience using digital task management tools, such as Asana
  • hands-on experience with social media management for brands
  • extensive knowledge of online marketing and marketing channels
