Who is Goodsted?
Goodsted's vision is to empower collaboration for social and environmental progress. We are a platform that connects individuals who want to share/volunteer their skills & expertise with non-profits and impact organisations. Through our digital platform, projects and organisations can post skilled based volunteer needs and find the right person to support their project. It is an open community platform with the aim to nurture collaboration to progress causes we all care about. With this post, we're looking to reach out to individuals interested in volunteering and grow our volunteer community.
Which organisation will you be supporting?
Beach collective is a blockchain enabled climate tech startup that are building a circular economy by funding clean oceans and blue carbon initiatives everytime someone transacts using their currency, $BEACH. They have a massive potential to tackle the world's greatest problem - biodiversity loss and climate breakdown.
What do they want to achieve?
To onboard 20 new businesses who will adopt $BEACH
To create 5 pieces of editorial about what they are doing in any publication globally
To onboard 100 new users of Beach Action, either individuals or NGOs
What do they need help with?
They are looking for a hard-working, intelligent and multi-skilled intern with a passionate commitment to climate action.
Their work is so varied and all encompassing that they can tailor the role and responsibilities of the position in order to suit the strengths and interests of the candidate, but could any/all of the following include:
- Creating a pipeline of planet-friendly brands and businesses and pitching them to adopt $BEACH in return for their products and services.
- Creating a pipeline of NGOs and community groups to use their newly launched Dapp Beach Action.
- Beta testing Apps and tech before launch.
- Editing and preparing articles for the blog.
- Video editing for social media.
- Contacting journalists for PR coverage.
- Helping with grant applications.
- Helping with social media where necessary, preparing content etc.
- Generally being prepared to jump on any new task when they are short staffed/
Essential Skills
Excellent written English
Committment to our mission
Good organisation, time management, working to deadlines
Ability to work creatively and independently in pursuit of a target
Flexible and adaptable in picking up new tasks
Diligent and careful in following instructions.
Preference for:
Sales experience/presenting skills
PR/Comms experience
Understanding of the climate space
Knowledge of crypto space
Knowledge of sustainable commerce, planet-friendly brands and products
Experience of UX testing and beta testing
Proficiency using Google sheets, Google calendar, Google docs, Google slides etc.
Proficiency with social media
What do they have in place?
The candidate will receive training and experience in a wide variety of transferable professional skills, can work remotely from wherever they choose and will receive performance-related rewards in $BEACH. For the best candidates there is a strong likelihood of a future position becoming available.
They have two full-time members of staff who they will be reporting directly to.
Time Commitment
This role requires a commitment of 15 hours, recurring weekly until 13th May, 2023.
