Who is Goodsted?

Goodsted's vision is to empower collaboration for social and environmental progress. We are a platform that connects individuals who want to share/volunteer their skills & expertise with non-profits and impact organisations. Through our digital platform, projects and organisations can post skilled based volunteer needs and find the right person to support their project. It is an open community platform with the aim to nurture collaboration to progress causes we all care about. With this post, we're looking to reach out to individuals interested in volunteering and grow our volunteer community.

Which organisation will you be supporting?

Volunteers for Future is a charity that focuses on helping young people feel inspired, empowered and better informed through increasing their access to conservation education. By harnessing the power of collaboration and working with leading conservation organizations, they boost their educational outreach through volunteers like you who are interested in supporting the cause.

What do they want to achieve?

  • To provide dedicated mentoring support to teams of students to help take their ideas into implementation
  • To encourage students to think creatively about how best to implement their solutions, increasing their confidence, critical thinking and planning skills
  • To encourage and facilitate collaboration amongst team members, and promote an inclusive working environment
  • To attend the prestigious national event
  • To regularly monitor and record students’ progress
  • To support with preparing to pitch at the national event
  • To work in partnership with the teachers to ensure that the students behave respectfully to one another

What do they need help with?

They are seeking volunteers who are great at getting new things off the ground, with a background in campaigning, design, innovation or experience of setting up their own enterprise.

Over a six-month period, in a school setting, mentors will work closely with teams of students to develop their ideas from concept through to prototype to implementation.

This is an exciting new initiative from the Green Britain Foundation to nurture, support and celebrate youth-led, school-based climate action. The Challenge supports students aged 11-14 to learn and apply design, innovation, business and other transferable skills, empowering young people to explore local climate and sustainability issues and design entrepreneurial solutions or campaigns to address the problems they identify.

The Young Green Briton Challenge brings together the experience of a variety of organisations including the Ministry of Eco Education, Social Innovation for All, Volunteers for Future and I Have a Voice.
